myUFL Credit Card Payment Changes
The payment of student charges on-lineby credit cards is very popular with
students and parents. Unfortunately, credit card fees are also very expensive to
the University. To avoid these substantial and increasing costs, the University
has chosen a business partner CASHNet/SmartPay to process on-line credit
card payments.
- Service Charge - A 2.6%
service charge
is added to all on-lin credit card transactions. These transactions
include the payment of student tuition, fees, and account receivable charges (i.e.,
laser print, library fines, infirmary). MasterCard, Discover, and American Express
is accepted for these payments. VISA does not allow this type of service charge
and is not a payment option. It is important to note that this service
charge is only on myUFL on-line credit card transactions. Other campus credit
card payments (i.e., Bookstore, eateries) are not affected by this service
charge.
- Free Payment Methods - If students wish to avoid service
charges the following are the free payment methods available:
- E-Checks - Electronic checks are an on-line payment option with no service charge. To sign-up for this
method of payment, go to http://my.ufl.edu/ under "My Campus Finances" and choose "Pay
Now".
- Payment Drop-off - Pay by cashier's check, check, or money order by
placing a payment in the secure drop box located outside the University Cashier's
near the vending machines on the NW side of Criser Hall.
- Payment Mail-in - Mail payments to University Financial Services, PO Box 114050, Gainesville, FL 32611-4050.
